Stonewall Community Foundation makes general support grants to New York City community-based, non-profit organizations, projects and programs whose missions benefit LGBT communities.

Stonewall Community Foundation now accepts proposals for our general grantmaking program by invitation only. We typically issue an annual Request for Proposals (RFP), for which the first step is to submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI). Details on what to address in the LOI are included in the Request for Proposals

Awards are one-year general support grants, eligible for renewal for two additional years, paired with an annual stipend for technical assistance through an approved third-party provider

All proposals are reviewed by an independent community review panel.

To ensure the grants process is truly "owned" by the community, two-thirds of the grant committee's members must be non-Stonewall directors.
