Scholarship, Style, and Social Justice
Meet our 2025 Aritzia x Stonewall Scholars
Here at Stonewall Community Foundation, we believe education is one of the most powerful tools we have to advance equity and expand opportunity. That’s why we’re proud to partner with global fashion house Aritzia to support LGBTQ+ women pursuing higher education and preparing to lead in fields that shape culture, care, and community.
Launched in 2021, the Aritzia x Stonewall Community Foundation Scholarship has become a vital source of support for women-identified LGBTQ+ students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs across the US, particularly those studying fashion design, retail management, mental health, and social justice advocacy. Each year, the scholarship provides meaningful financial support to several students, easing the burden of tuition and educational expenses and allowing recipients to focus more fully on their studies, leadership development, and long-term goals. For many of our scholars, this investment represents more than financial relief: it is a powerful affirmation that their identities, talents, and aspirations matter.
Aritzia’s partnership with Stonewall reflects a shared commitment to advancing inclusion and creating pathways for LGBTQ+ women to thrive. Together, we’re supporting students who are well-positioned to challenge systems, build more equitable industries, and advocate for justice and care in meaningful ways. This brilliant collaboration also underscores the key role that values-aligned corporate partners play in shaping a more inclusive future.
2025 marked the fourth cycle of the Aritzia x Stonewall Scholarship, which drew nearly 200 applications from passionate and talented students nationwide. After careful review, our selection committee narrowed it down to five exceptional awardees:
Sofia B., a graduate student and advocate for LGBTQ+ migrants and refugees
Yessica I., an undergraduate urban planning student committed to uplifting immigrant and BIPOC communities
Sienna K., an undergraduate studying sociology and curatorial studies with a focus on queer art and history
Tuesday S., a graduate student working to build sustainability and environmental justice in fashion
Odalia Z., a graduate student dedicated to advancing equity and inclusion in the fashion industry
Here’s what some of this year’s scholars had to say about the impact of receiving this scholarship:
The importance of this scholarship goes beyond tuition dollars, and signals belief in the next generation of queer leaders. Whether a student envisions reshaping the fashion world, advancing mental health care, driving inclusive retail innovation, or advocating equity via systemic change, this partnership helps turn ambition into action. By investing in LGBTQ+ women in creative and justice-oriented sectors, the Aritzia x Stonewall Scholarship continues to open doors and reshape the future.
