Outreach and Vision 2021
Stonewall works in a variety of ways to make sure that our message, our values, and our mission are reaching our community: not only donors but also people who might need us for help, connection to services, or any of the other programs we offer.
In the last year, Stonewall staffers have presented for corporate speaking engagements, participated in interviews and featured in storytelling campaigns, spoken on panels, and participated in our new Bingo Uprising series. We have reached more than 35,000 people directly through such events.
Through the generosity of Pride Media, for the last year we have run a full-page ad in each print edition of Out and The Advocate magazines, and have reached more than 400,000 people as we elevated important community campaigns, including “Sex Work is Work.”
Our corporate partners have shared our messaging through their own networks (employee, print, social media), with an audience of 20,000,000 individuals.
Our messages about the interconnectedness of queer liberation, racial justice, and economic equity are reaching diverse audiences, which are in turn bringing new energy and resources to aid in our mission.
Vision 2021
Increased attention on our work and a roster of world-class honorees helped bring the largest audience, and the largest net proceeds, to our annual Vision Awards fundraiser in June.
Honoring Oscar nominee and Grammy-winning actor/singer Andra Day, actor and social justice advocate Colman Domingo, Emmy-winning actor and writer Dan Levy, queer social media phenom Plant Kween, and nonprofit superstar Andy Marra, Vision 2021 also featured performances by Victor Jackson and was emceed by Stonewall favorite Jarrett Hill.
More than 1,200 people watched Vision’s live broadcast (which you can still see here), we’ve had 26,000 impressions of our post-event highlight reel, and over 15,000,000 people saw social media posts by sponsors and honorees.
We had the opportunity to learn how to bring people together, how to frame our storytelling in new and unique ways, and how the virtual space could be used to ensure that no one was kept from participating.
