Recapping our Fall 2025 Donor Briefing
On September 18, we gathered with our fund partners, donors, and community members for Stonewall’s Fall Donor Briefing, a powerful virtual convening focused on reflection, impact, and vision for the year ahead.
Together, we looked back on a remarkable year of growth and resilience. In 2024 alone, we moved $1 million back into the community, awarding 197 grants that impacted 147 unique organizations across 25 U.S. cities. Yet, as philanthropic funding for LGBTQ+ organizations continues to decline by nearly 20 percent, we reaffirmed our commitment to meeting this moment with creativity, collaboration, and care.
The event featured insights from Board Member Suman Chakraborty and Fund Partner David Murray, whose reflections reminded us that our strength lies in community. We also shared updates on Reclaiming Our Power, a multi-year initiative investing $825,000 in grassroots LGBTQ+ organizations nationwide. With 182 proposals totaling more than $10 million in requests, this program illustrates both the overwhelming demand for funding and the transformative potential of Stonewall’s leadership.
From scholarships that uplift queer students to emergency response grants supporting organizations on the frontlines, every story we shared reaffirmed a simple truth: when we invest in our community, we secure our future together. And with more collective support, Stonewall can reach even further, funding more organizations, seeding more ideas, and building a more equitable and liberated future for all LGBTQ+ people.
