Aid for LGBTQ+ and Black refugees in Ukraine

Ukrainians are fleeing violent conflict zones, and LGBTQ+ and Black refugees are experiencing disproportionate hardship

The horrors of war are writ large, and as usual, marginalized populations are bearing a disproportionate brunt of violence, discrimination, and prejudice.

There are LGBTQ and people of color desperately trying to get out of Ukraine as Russia pursues its devastating invasion of this sovereign nation. We are hearing terrible stories, particularly about trans women who have a male gender marker on their identification, and the abuses they’re facing under martial law and forced conscription in Ukraine.
