The power of your fund
With a particularly challenging calendar year coming to a close, now is a perfect time to consider making a tax-deductible contribution to your fund. Whether through standard cash donations or gifts of stock, a year-end addition to your fund will go a long way to meet the emerging needs of our vital grantee partners. To add to your fund, head to this link, then select the name of your fund from the drop-down menu: the contribution will be applied directly to your fund!
Stonewall also accepts various types of non-cash gifts, the most common being stock. To donate stock, email donate@stonewallfoundation.org and let us know how many shares of what stock you’ll be donating. We do not always receive information about the donor, so it’s important for you to let us know directly so we can appropriately credit and acknowledge your gift. Please provide your broker with the following information:
Charles Schwab
DTC Clearing # 0164, Code 40
Stonewall Community Foundation - Stock Gifting Portfolio, A/C #: 4509-1710
We will send an acknowledgment once the transfer is complete. If you’d like to make in-kind, real estate, or property gifts, just email us to get started.

Arts Business Collaborative
As people around the world stood up against racial injustice this summer, donations began to pour in to Black-led nonprofits, particularly Black transgender-led organizations. Small organizations like The Okra Project, Black Trans Femmes in the Arts, and For the Gworls suddenly had to contend with a rapid increase in donors and media attention. Luckily for these organizations, Arts Business Collaborative (ABC), a new Stonewall grantee partner, provides technical assistance and capacity building support in addition to being their fiscal sponsor. ABC has helped many Black trans-led organizations with grant applications, media training, legal services, and support in building a recurring giving program. ABC, which itself is a small, Black queer-led organization, has been a rock for many organizations during a time of upheaval and growth.
Colectivo Intercultural TRANSgrediendo
In late March, trans activist and movement Lorena Borjas died from COVID-19. Lorena was the founder and Executive Director of Stonewall grantee partner Colectivo Intercultural TRANSgrediendo. Despite this immense loss, Colectivo, under Interim Director Liaam Winslet, has continued providing their lifesaving services. Colectivo serves the transgender Latinx community in Queens. During the pandemic, they have continued offering support groups via Zoom, and also provide food pantry bags, rent assistance, and gift cards for community members who are unable to engage in sex work due to the pandemic. We miss Lorena deeply, and are honored to support the work she started.
Legal Aid Society
At the start of the pandemic, Stonewall’s Emergency Response Fund made a grant to the Legal Aid Society to support their work decarcerating transgender people at risk of COVID infection, and connecting those people with housing and other resources upon their release. Last month, we heard an update about one client whose release Legal Aid had secured: “She is 63 years old and has a number of serious medical conditions, so we were overjoyed that she finally can come home.”
