Grantee Spotlight: Art With Impact

Earlier this year, Stonewall was contacted by Art with Impact, a national non-profit whose mission is to reduce stigma around mental health through film. This month, they’re launching Our Stories, Our Voices, a virtual festival that sheds light on unique issues in queer mental health through stories told by LGBTQ+ filmmakers and artists.

Over three days, filmmakers, mental health professionals, and community leaders will lead interactive workshops covering topics such as coming out about mental illness as a queer person, decolonizing gender and sexuality, and creating spaces for intergenerational queer conversations.

At Stonewall, we know that queer-affirming mental health resources are vital for our community.  We were honored to connect Art with Impact to two of our donor-advised funds, the Anderson Bridge Fund and the David and Christopher Murray Fund, to help make this festival a reality. The generous support of these two funds will help this virtual festival reach thousands of young people across the United States and Canada.

Our Stories, Our Voices will take place August 10-12 and is free and open to the public. You can check out the films and register for the festival workshops at their website here. We’re thrilled to welcome Art with Impact into the Stonewall grantee community.
