A year of impact

Thank you.

Your love for Stonewall has made 2020 a year in which we’ve answered community needs with a powerful response of trust and support: we are about to exceed $1,000,000 in grantmaking. What a perfect way to close out our 30th anniversary year. With your gift today, we can carry this energy forward into our fourth decade.

Stonewall Community Foundation took shape in the late 1980s amidst another pandemic, and we are grateful that we continue to play a key role in helping our community rise to the challenge in such times. Moreover, we are humbled by your generosity and that of our entire family of supporters, including the young leaders of Stonewall Quarter Share, who are making their largest-ever grant this year.

We are on track to surpass $1 million in total grantmaking by the end of the year. In 2020, we moved more resources into the LGBTQ community than any year in our history.

For the first time, we moved cash directly into the hands of LGBTQ individuals through COVID relief microgrants. Nearly 200 people received unrestricted grants of $500 each.

We have awarded funding to almost 150 organizations - 45% of which received their first Stonewall grants - empowering our partners to continue their critical work during the pandemic.

You can help ensure that we end the year in a position of strength and readiness by making a year-end gift today. While 2021 looks to be about as unpredictable as this year, we can predict that it will be a difficult year to plan.

You make the choice to center folks on the margins when you give to Stonewall. Our team actively listens to the people and organizations at the intersections of queer liberation and racial justice, works to build their capacity and public awareness of their work, pairs them with other collaborators and funders, and positions them to make an impact.

No matter how the political winds blow, your gifts to Stonewall help build and strengthen the ecosystem in which our grantee partners operate and thrive. LGBTQ youth are housed, artists are nurtured, activists are supported, and worlds are moved when our community gets the support it needs.

Thank you.

I wish you strength, power, and most importantly, love,
