Growing and Glowing

The success of any organization relies heavily on the people driving its work and those supporting their vision. At Stonewall, we are thrilled to have and build up our talented team of staff and Board leaders and want to share with you some noteworthy changes in our ranks.

First, earlier this year, Carlie Steen, who served as Program Manager since 2014, made an exciting move to become Programs Director at our peer funder, New York Women’s Foundation. After a thorough search, we were delighted to invite Maryse Pearce to replace her in helming our programmatic work. Maryse brings nearly a decade of experience in LGBTQ advocacy and organizing, and most recently worked as an analyst at HR&A Advisors, an economic development consulting company. We thank Carlie for her dedicated tenure and send out an enthusiastic welcome to Maryse!

Second, with great optimism for our future and a renewed commitment to deliver what our community deserves, we are excited to share that we are hiring for a new position, a Major Gifts Officer. This person will lead efforts to strengthen vital aspects of our fundraising work. Please help us spread the word! Click here to learn more or apply.

Last, but not least, coming into 2019, a few members of our Board of Directors cycled off, after a combined 15 years of service. We offer our deepest gratitude to them—Steve Houck, Zak Karim, and Ben Wyskida—for their transformative hard work and generosity. And, as we focus on expansion, we welcome a new cohort of brilliant change-makers to the Board, a total of seven people beginning their first terms:

Nevin Caple, Managing Partner of LGBT SportSafe

Cymone Fuller, Senior Program Associate at the Vera Institute of Justice

Cecilia Gentili, Principal and Founder of Transgender Equity Consulting

Nick Hodges, Chief Operating Officer at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors

Chris Mahdik, Director of Consumer Engagement Marketing for PayPal Credit

Gabriel Morales, Senior Vice President, Global Public Affairs at Citi

Javier Morgado, Executive Producer of CNN’s morning shows, New Day and Early Start

Gattlin Miller
